a savory snack plate, or adult lunchables, are the ideal meal prep lunch for all my besties who struggle with eating the exact same thing everyday. which is why we prep components of the snack plate, instead of identical tupperware meals like traditional meal prep lunches. so I am very excited to share my favorite savory snack plate items & some of my most useful tips for keeping things easy and fresh.
my formula for an amazing savory snack plate
there is not ONE way to snack plate. the best thing about making a snack plate is you can get as creative as you'd like. and as someone who has made quite a few snack plates, I have created a little formula of types of components to make the perfect combination of flavors.
obviously you can do what you want and not follow any of this :) its just my preferred method.
++ 2 protein options
jammy or boiled eggs (a must have for me)
deli meats
cured meat:
salami
pepperoni
proscuitto
sopressatta
capicola
++ anything pickled
pickles
olives
pepperchinis
pickled jalapenos
++ herbs & veggies
cut up veggies:
like cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and/or bell peppers
carrot sticks
fresh herbs
everything bagel seasoning
++ cheese
hard, sliced cheese
soft cheese like a brie
cream cheese or ricotta
the options are endless, and there is no bad choices
++ fruit
single fruits or a fruit salad work
grapes
pom seeds
sliced apples
mandarin or sumo oranges
stonefruit (apricots, peaches, etc)

step one: plan your snack plate
very important step! i typically do my meal planning for the entire week the Thursday or Friday before so I am ready to meal prep on Sunday.
favorite snack plate items:
ricotta stuffed bell peppers (you can even wrap them in proscuitto)
fried stuffed olives
pickle de gallo
jammy eggs
fruit salad
sliced herby veggies
wedged brie
step two: meal prep everything you can
you know your girl loves to meal prep to make eating easier during the work week and there is no exception with a snack plate. unlike a fully cooked meal there is less to prep but still doing a few things the day before will make it easier to throw your snack plate together the day of.
here are some examples of things you can prep for your snack plate:
chop & store vegetables
sliced & store cheese
make any dips or spreads
wash & prep fruit or fruit salad
boil eggs
pickle any vegetables
PRO TIP: I used these Bento Box Snack boxes to add as many snack plate ingredients I can. this make it's easier on the day of, because you don't have to pull out as many jars and tuperwares. ALSO super helpful for all my besties who do not work from home
PRO PRO TIP: if you are using the snack boxes, do not put the jammy eggs in there because they WILL stink everything up.
step 3: assemble savory snack plate
now it's during the work week, your tum tum is rumbling, and it's time to make our snack plate. since you planned & prep things should be easier when it's time to put your whole snack plate together.
