this recipe goes great with salmon and tuna. pick your favorite or make both. it's up to you baby doll :) but if you hate decisons choose salmon.

we love a meal prep slay

you can easily double or triple this recipe and store in the fridge for an easy lunch meal prep through the work week. if you are meal prepping, do not make the nori wraps ahead of time. store the canned fish salad in the fridge for 3-4 days and cut up the avocado and nori wraps when it's time to eat.

INGREDIENTS

  • tinned (canned) fish (whatever’s in the pantry—tuna, salmon, mystery can from the back shelf)

  • kewpie mayo (the fancy stuff, but basic mayo works if you’re out)

  • sriracha (because spice is life)

  • green onions (or leftover scallions if you’ve got ‘em)

  • sesame seeds (optional—aka only if you’re feeling classy)

  • soy sauce (just a splash)

  • nori sheets (you know, the sushi seaweed that makes you feel fancy)

  • optional: cucumbers & avocado (because why not pretend you’re at a sushi joint)

the zero-effort assembly

  1. toss and mix: drain that canned fish and dump it in a bowl. Add a healthy blob of mayo, squirt in some sriracha like your life depends on it, throw in the green onions, and hit it with a dash of soy sauce. Stir it until it’s all creamy and spicy. Congratulations, you’ve officially done 90% of the “cooking.”

  2. optional fancy points: feeling extra? Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. Totally unnecessary, but they make it look like you know what you’re doing.

  3. wrap it up like a pro: cut the nori sheet into smaller rectandles and assemble it like a little taco. canned fish first, then cucumber salad and avocado. dip in spicy mayo, soy sauce or chili flakes.

  4. chow down like the legend you are: Take a bite, relish in the fact that you just made something delicious with next to no effort, and feel smug about how clever you are. It’s fresh, it’s spicy, and it’s way better than any overpriced takeout.

*bonus*

if you’re really feeling yourself, pair these wraps with a quick cucumber salad. Pro tip: @cassyeungmoney’s cucumber salad recipe is where it’s at. It’s crunchy, tangy, and adds the perfect “I kind of tried” vibe to your meal.
