why sumo oranges ?
for me, sumo oranges are like the VIP of the citrus world. i literally wait all year for them to be in season, which for me is winter. they are huge, sweet, seedless, and easy to peel like those little mandarins. their natural juiciness and mild acidity pair perfectly with white chocolate, making them the ideal base for this recipe. now if you can’t find sumo oranges, don’t worry—you can swap in mandarins, clementines, or even regular oranges.
INGREDIENTS
sumo oranges (other types of mandarins are good too)
4 oz white chocolate chips (or white chocolate bars, chopped)
1tbsp of coconut oil
1–2 tsp matcha powder (ceremonial grade, if possible, for the best flavor)

let's get into...
peel + prepare: start by peeling your sumo oranges. separate the segments and set them aside.
melt the white chocolate: Add your white chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 15–20 second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth.
add in matcha powder: once the white chocolate is melted add in matcha powder - pro tip if you sift it through the matcha coliander. then stir until all the matcha powder is mixed in.
dip the oranges: dip each orange segment halfway into the melted white chocolate. Place the dipped segments on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to avoid sticking.
let them set: pop your tray of dipped oranges in the fridge for 10–15 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.
serve or store for the future: eat them all in one sitting (no judgement here) or store them for later
